Adventure together with even the tiniest explorers.
Walk on the wild side.
Most state and national parks and forests have family-friendly trails, but of course double-check before you go so you don’t find yourself trying to get a stroller across a log bridge. Wear a carrier and you’ll be prepared for the moment your hiking buddy decides he doesn’t want to walk … at all. Another plus for you: that righteous feeling of accomplishment after hiking three miles up a mountain trail carrying 30 pounds of sleeping toddler!
Who doesn’t love a pool day?! – swimming, splashing, floating in a raft, or just sitting on the steps = living the dream! Don’t forget your pool floaties, sunscreen and swim diapers, obvs. If you don’t have your own pool, that’s totally the best part of staying at a hotel or resort (besides pushing all the buttons on the elevator!). Even better when there are indoor and outdoor pools so you’re safe from rainy days and sunburn.
Must. Keep. Moving.
Universal truth: kids love to tag along while you do all the work, whether you’re heading out for quick jaunt around the block or entering a stroller-friendly race. So pack snacks so you cross the finish line without a meltdown, save pacing goals for when you’re flying solo, and remember that it’s not the end but the getting there that really counts.
