Valentine's Day Craft: Easy Butterflies
This sweet and easy-to-make Valentine's Day craft starts with a spoon
Let kids spread the love with these easy DIY Valentine butterflies.
⁃ white card stock
⁃ craft paint and paint brushes
⁃ disposable wooden spoons
⁃ craft glue
⁃ hot glue gun
⁃ heart butterfly printables
⁃ mini craft poms
⁃ wiggle eyes
Print and cut out the heart butterfly printable pieces so they're ready to use.
Paint the wooden spoons black. Have kids use craft paint (in Valentine colors) to create abstract art and patterns on sheets of white card stock. Let dry.
Use the heart wings template to trace and cut out wings from the child's artwork. Glue printable black and white hearts on top of the artwork wings for extra dimension, then have a grown-up hot glue the finished wings to a black spoon. Glue on wiggle eyes, mini poms, and antenna (made with pieces of scrap paper).
Using a white crayon, have the child (or a grown-up) "sign" their artwork on the handle of the spoon.
Always supervise children when creating crafts; these projects are not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
