DIY Monster Cereal Treats

They're deliciously scary!

A tray of marshmallow cereal treats Candy melts (yellow, white, and black) 1-2 orange taffy bars 1-2 blue taffy bars Knife Scissors Toothpicks Serving platter

Cut the marshmallow and rice cereal treats into rectangles approximately 2 inches by 2-½ inches.

Cut squares out of the orange taffy for the monster faces—one for every monster.

Cut small triangles from the blue taffy to serve as horns—two for every monster.

Melt the yellow candy melts, then dip the front of each cereal treat into it. Before the yellow candy dries, stick the taffy face to the front, and use a knife to smooth out the edges. (If the bowl of candy melts starts to harden at any point, you can pop it in the microwave for a few seconds.)

Make the eyes by melting the white candy melts, then using a toothpick to draw two small white circles on the face. Next, melt the black candy melts, and use a different toothpick to draw black dots in the white circles.

Make the monster's mouth by using your toothpick to draw a small black crescent under the eyes.

Dip the wide ends of the horns into the yellow melts, and use the melts as glue to stick the horns on the top of the monster's head. Repeat until all your monsters are done.

This treat is for ages three and up.
