Garlands are one of the most effective ways to transform any room into a party. They can be fashioned with everything from paper to felt, but it’s fun to use something a little outside the box for a milestone first birthday – like the colorful plastic balls that are typically found in a children’s ball pit play area! Lightweight and durable, they can easily be pierced with a large sewing needle and strung into a fun and colorful birthday ball garland that feels both toy-inspired and age appropriate.
- Colorful Plastic Balls
- Baker’s Twine
- Large Sewing Needle
1. Thread your needle with baker’s twine, then pierce the center of a plastic ball with the needle and pull it completely through the other side.
2. Continue stringing more plastic balls onto the garland until you’re happy with the amount.
3. Adjust the spacing of the garland to your liking, and you’re done! Make sure to allot a generous amount of excess baker’s twine for hanging before cutting it from the spool.
