Frequently Asked Questions about Best Possible Start: A film by you
Who is eligible to upload a video?
You must be 18 years old, or the age of majority if it’s different in your home state.
Who can be in my video?
The video can show footage of your family only. Sorry, it’s for reasons of permission – if the video includes a minor, you must be the parent or guardian of the child.
Do I need to show Fisher-Price products in my video?
No, you don’t – we just want to see your beautiful kids. Of course, of our toys or gear happen to be part of the scene, that’s great!
Is there anything special I should be aware of?
Ownership (of the kids and the footage!) is the biggest thing. The rest of our requirements are common sense. The footage should be suitable for our site (aka family friendly!). It can’t infringe anyone else’s rights (which means try not to make other trademarked products or logos the focal point). You can’t include anything that’s sexually explicit, violent, inappropriate, indecent, or otherwise objectionable (not that you would). We can’t accept any videos that have copyrighted music as soundtracks, popular or otherwise, so you’ll probably need to turn the music way down when recording. And your footage shouldn’t depict any situation that is unsafe for the children included. Our full list of “don’ts” is included in our Terms & Conditions.
How do I submit my video footage?
On our Film by You site, on desktop, tablet or mobile.
What types of video files can I submit?
You can submit videos in any of the following formats: .mov, .avi, or .mp4 file format.
How will you use my video footage?
If it passes our moderation process (for legal and quality reasons, we need to check for things we can’t show on our site), we’ll post your footage on our Film by You website so lots of people can enjoy it. (And potentially, we could even use it in other places on our site in the future.) Also, please read our Terms & Conditions carefully if you have questions about ownership of the footage or our rights to use it.
