The 1930s were a time for art deco, the golden age of Hollywood, and of course, ducks that were doctors. 

Doctor Doodle was the first toy Fisher-Price® ever made. He, along with 15 other toys known as the “16 Hopefuls,” made their big toy debut at the 1931 Toy Fair in New York City. And if you happened to be alive in 1931, you could’ve purchased Doctor Doodle for just $3! Or two loaves of bread if you were a duck.

Racing into the 1940s was the most distinctive and unusual of the Fisher-Price® pull toys, The Coaster Boy. Here he’s pushing his cart, but thanks to multiple joints, he could also hop in the red cart and well, coast! Which is what kids in the 1940s loved to do most. Well, probably. We haven't talked to any kids from the 1940s lately.

It’s the age of the Space Race! The Space Blazer was an out-of-this-world contraption made before man had even landed on the moon.

The spinning saucer came with a green-headed “Man from Mars,” a warning bell, and a spring-wire radar antenna. It was also made out of solid wood, which isn’t ideal for space travel but works great for imaginary space travel. 

Playing house in a house was never so fun as it was in 1969! You probably remember the four rooms, five figures, and 11 pieces of furniture the Play Family House came with, but do you also remember the ringing doorbell, sliding garage door, and handles on top for portability? If not, that’s okay; there are a lot of things you’ve had to remember over 51 years.

In 1973, the Happy Apple blossomed from a new category called Crib and Playpen Toys, which focused on toys for infants and toddlers. It made a happy little chime that some say was the sound heard ’round the world. Or at least ’round the crib and playpen. 

Dinosaurs have a rich history spanning millions of years, filled with mystery, catastrophe, and triumph. Dinoroars have a rich history spanning from 1992 to 1995, filled with neon, super-soft material, and very, very, very loud roars.
