- 4 potatoes, grated (or use pre-cut hash browns)
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon flour
- Margarine
- Sour cream or applesauce

- Let the kids help you mix grated potatoes with egg and flour in a medium bowl.
- Have the kids stand back or sit at the table while you heat the skillet to medium high.
- Place a tablespoon or two of margarine in a medium skillet.
- Drop large rounded spoonfuls of potato mixture into the pan.
- Fry on both sides for a few minutes, until brown.
- Place latkes on plates and allow them to cool a little.
- Serve with a tablespoon of sour cream or applesauce.

- 6 cups chocolate milk (or regular milk mixed with chocolate powder)
- Mini-marshmallows, optional
- 6 small candy canes, optional
|
- Heat chocolate milk in a saucepan until warm—not boiling.
- When warm, pour into mugs. Allow to cool if milk is too hot.
- Serve to kids with a couple of mini-marshmallows and a candy cane stirrer, if desired.

| Turn an old favorite into a holiday treat with a little imagination and decorative candies. |

3 and up (Under 3, just serve crispy cereal) |

- 1/4 cup margarine
- 40 marshmallows
- 5-6 cups crisp rice cereal
- Green colored sprinkles
- Red-hot candies or a tube of red icing
|
- Melt margarine and marshmallows in a large saucepan over low heat.
- Stir in crisp rice cereal and mix well.
- Spread in a buttered 8 by 12-inch pan.
- Sprinkle with green sprinkles.
- Allow to cool.
- When cool, cut into tree shapes using a cookie cutter.
- Add red hots or dots of red icing "ornaments" to decorate the tree.
- Serve to kids so they can enjoy their Crispy Christmas Trees!

- 6 pint-sized cartons of milk
- 6 graham cracker squares per person
- 2 cans frosting
- A variety of Christmas cookies
- Tubes of icing
- Decorative candies, optional

- Pour the milk into glasses and save in the refrigerator for snack time.
- Rinse and dry the milk cartons.
- Give each child a milk carton and six graham crackers.
- Have them frost each side of the milk carton with icing and glue on a graham cracker square.
- Glue the last two crackers to the sides of the top of the carton to make the roof.
- Have the kids decorate the house with cookies and decorative candies, using icing to stick them on, or just use the tubes of icing to decorate them.
- Let the kids nibble on some of the cookies as they work.
- Let them eat their cookie house when they're finished, with glasses of milk, or save them to take home.
