Recall of the Lift & Lock Swing
On August 24th, 2000 Mattel announced the voluntary recall of the Fisher-Price 'Lift & Lock Swing' in Australia. Mattel will provide an additional safety restraint to all owners to ensure the swing is safe.
The Lift & Lock Swing is an outdoor swing for children aged 9 months to 3 years. The swing has a plastic "T"-shaped restraint shield to hold children in the seat. The recall follows reports that children can manoeuvre out of the restraint and fall out of the swing, resulting in injuries.
The Lift & Lock Swing has a green, red or purple plastic seat, a yellow "T"-shaped restraint shield and blue ropes. "Fisher-Price" is written on the front of the restraint shield. The swings have model numbers 2092, 72092, 75970 or 75973 moulded into the back of the seat.
Consumers should stop using the swings immediately. Mattel will provide a free, easy to install kit with a supplemental waist and crotch restraint belt.
Consumers should call Mattel on 1300 135 312 to determine if their product is affected, for more information or to receive their free restraint kit.
The new Fisher-Price Lift & Lock Swing with the additional restraint is now available in retail stores.
