How can I tell if my Fisher-Price Car Seat is installed correctly?
Important Note: Whenever possible, a car seat should be used in a rear vehicle seat
location. Accident statistics have proven that occupants are safer there in the event
of an accident. Also, NEVER install a car seat in the rear-facing mode in a vehicle
seating location equipped with an airbag. The airbag impact can cause severe head injury
or death. If your vehicle is equipped with a passenger airbag, please refer to your
vehicle owner's manual for child restraint installation instructions.
After an appropriate location is chosen, a correct car seat installation is one that
minimizes any slack or looseness between the child seat and the vehicle. Any looseness
will allow your child to move farther forward in the event of a sudden stop or impact.
The more a child can move forward, the greater the possibility of striking an interior
component and being injured. This is particularly important when the child is in the
forward facing mode.
Getting a tight fit is dependent on vehicle seat contour, the design of the vehicle
belt system and the design of your car seat. Fisher-Price Car Seats are designed to allow
the tightest possible fit in virtually all vehicles on the road today. By following the
instructions within the owner's manual provided with each car seat, you should be able to
obtain a tight installation. There are even recommended test procedures within the manuals
to allow you to check your installation. If you cannot get a satisfactory installation in a
particular seating location within your vehicle, try the car seat in another location.
In forward facing convertible seats, installation is further improved with the addition of
a tether. The tether attaches the top of the car seat directly to the vehicle's structure.
This extra attachment further reduces the forward motion of your child in the event of a
sudden stop or impact.

What should I do if my car seat has been involved in a crash?
Never use your car seat after it has been involved in a crash. We recommend that you replace
your car seat. A crash can cause damage to the car seat that you cannot see.
When you replace your car seat, make sure that it can no longer be used by another child by
disposing of it properly.

Is it safe to use a previously owned car seat?
Before purchasing or borrowing a previously owned Fisher-Price Car Seat, we recommend
that you call us at 1300 135 312. Our trained representatives can determine if the car
seat was involved in any modification or recall programs.
Fisher-Price recommends that child restraints be replaced after eight years to provide
the best assurance that the child restraint: is in reliable working conditions; is well
suited for use in constantly changing automobile interior design; and is reasonably current
in relation to Federal regulations.

How do I submit an idea for a new toy or children's product?
We have established a policy of not reviewing outside submissions, except from a limited number of firms and individuals that have had previous, long-standing relationships with Fisher-Price. We realise that at times we may pass up ideas that could be opportunities for us, but we believe our policy is necessary to avoid possible conflicts with our own product development efforts. This policy also prevents us from disclosing the names of those people. You may, however, wish to contact one of the agencies listed below for further assistance.
