Fisher-Price exists to make childhood fun and enriching.  Through our breadth of products and services, we support families with young children, helping them build skills that will last a lifetime. And we’ve been doing that for generations—since 1930, in fact.

Our story

It was 1930 when Herman Fisher, Irving Price and Helen Schelle combined their talents to create a different kind of toy company. With the Great Depression looming, it may not have been the best time to launch a new business. Luckily, the whimsical nature and magical surprises of their first toys quickly caught on. And they became lasting hallmarks of Fisher-Price products. Another enduring legacy is the founder’s creed, calling for:

  • Ingenuity
  • Strong construction
  • Good value for the money
  • Action

These principles still guide us in our decisions today.

Fisher-Price headquarters

Fisher-Price is headquartered where it was founded, in East Aurora, New York. It’s a small, historic village 20 minutes southeast of Buffalo—a close-knit community with charming homes, gently rolling hills, good schools and friendly, hardworking neighbors.

Community support

Our heritage includes long-standing support of the communities where we do business as well as programs that benefit children. Our parent company, Mattel, is the largest toy manufacturer in the world, and Fisher-Price’s philanthropic programs fall under the umbrella of the Mattel Children’s Foundation. Across all divisions of the company, we believe it is our responsibility to lead the way in making a difference in the lives of children in need.
