About Imagination
At this stage, your child is discovering how things work and imitating what they see others do.
Pretending Sarah Lynn’s wand can make magic happen or taking care of her pony (feeding and brushing, etc.)
Inviting others to join in the play (“You be Sarah Lynn and I’ll be the prince!”)
Deciding whether to “set” the table for a candlelight dinner, “light” the fire or get dressed for the ball!
This imaginative stage lets your child be the “director” of the action, making all the decisions and even including others in the play. Imagining helps a child think things through, which is great preparation for learning. |
