At this stage, your child is discovering how things work and imitating what they see others do!
Sliding the chicken along the rail to send Farmer Jed or the animals down the slide!
Learning what the different animals say as they hear and imitate their sounds!
Sliding the peek-a-boo doors back and forth, or opening and closing the gates!
The discovery stage helps little ones make sense of their world and provides a feeling of control, that their actions can make things happen!
When your child’s a little older, you’ll see the imagination stage come into play—he may begin to pretend he is Farmer Jed and take care of the animals by putting them all in their places! |
