Materials
- Pressed or dried flowers—follow the directions for the Flower Press activity to press fresh flowers, or use dried flowers instead.
- Child’s blunt-tip safety scissors
- Envelope with a clear plastic window
- Construction paper
- Glue
- Washable markers or gel pens
- Hole punch and ribbon (optional)
Instructions
- Cut out the clear plastic window from the envelope. As you cut, leave a narrow paper border around the window.
- Cut construction paper to the same size as the window you’ve cut from the envelope.
- Arrange the flowers on the construction paper cut-out, then place the envelope window on top of the flowers.
- Be sure the flowers show through the window.
- Remove the window and glue the flowers onto the construction paper.
- Squeeze glue on the paper border around the envelope window.
- Place the envelope window over the top of the flowers and press it into place on the construction paper.
- Have your child decorate the bookmark with washable markers or gel pens.
- If you like, punch a hole at the top of the bookmark, loop ribbon through the hole, and tie it.
