Star of David

Materials

  • Marker
  • Paper
  • Wax paper
  • Stapler
  • Glue
  • Glitter
  • String
  • Blue or yellow construction paper (optional)
  • Paintbrush
  • Hole punch (optional)

Instructions

  1. Draw the outline of a Star of David on the paper.
  2. Lay wax paper waxy side up over the outline and staple the edges of the wax paper to the paper.
  3. Have your child squeeze a line of glue along the outline to make a Star of David shape on the wax paper.
  4. Sprinkle glitter over the glue and let it dry.
  5. When the glue is completely dry, peel the shape from the wax paper.
  6. Loop string through one point of the star and hang it to display.

Variations

  • If you like, cut two equilateral triangles from blue or yellow construction paper.
  • Place one triangle upside down over the top of the other. Make sure all six points are sticking out an equal distance. Glue the two triangles together.
  • Brush glue on the star and sprinkle glitter over it.
  • Punch a hole in one point of the star.
  • Loop string through the hole and hang the star to display.

Safety

Adult supervision needed for use of stapler.
