Spider Crackers
Spider Crackers
For Halloween, involve your little one in some creepy, crafty fun. Before a monster movie or for a scary celebration, you and your child can create a spooky snack. As you make it together, ask your little boy or ghoul to create the creepiest cracker they can. When they're all done with the Halloween fun, you both can enjoy a sticky, tricky treat!
Materials
- Spread (cream cheese, cheese spread, or peanut butter)
- Round crackers
- Pretzel sticks
- Raisins or chocolate chips (not for children under 3 years)
Instructions
- Smear the spread on two crackers.
- Arrange eight pretzel sticks to look like spider legs in the spread on one of the crackers.
- Place the second cracker spread side down on top of the first cracker.
- Have your child place two dots of spread on the top cracker, then top with two raisins or chocolate chips for spider eyes (for children under 3, omit the raisins or chocolate chips).
Safety
Because the small ingredients could be choking hazards, do not include them for children under 3 years of age. Be cognizant of potential food allergies (e.g., to nuts) for children participating in this craft.
