Grand Thoughts
Got any great ideas for what to give your grandkids this year? How about sharing ways to make your time with them over the holidays even more special?

My granddaughter has been in the kitchen with me from day one! Now at the age of three she can break eggs as well as I can. This year she is getting her own kitchen and I am adding personal touches. In addition to the usual play stuff there will be a mini "cookbook" with pics of she and I in the kitchen making her faves like scrambled eggs, hot dogs, & macaroni..."no cheese please." A personalized apron and a hand painted tea set will ready us for hours of making memories together!

My grandchildren live in N.C. and I live in P.A. so when grandpa and I visit we have to make this time really count. We will make a gingerbread boy after reading Jan Brett's story, "The Gingerbread Baby." Mixing and baking is a favorite activity whenever we visit!

We love having a Cookie Day with everyone participating. I have grandchildren from 20 years old to 2 years old and I want everyone to remember this day for the rest of their lives. My husband passed away two years ago and I sold my house and built a new one with my son, so we haven't had a cookie day in two years. When I announced that Cookie Day was on again, everyone cheered.

This will be the first holiday for me being a long distance grandma (I live in NY and granddaughter and parents live in Florida). I try to find things that will be more long-term items -- e.g., crib special bear celebrating the birth. But now I want to give her things she can interact with both alone and with others. I saw some things on your site that will work quite nicely and being a grandma, I can indulge a bit more than I did when I was the mother.

I love your ideas for gifts and I have always loved Fisher-Price toys. My kids had lots of them ,esp. the Little People sets. I just watch my little grandaughter now play for hours with them. Thank you so much for years of outstanding business.

My grandson is 22 months old, and is very inquisitive about cooking, so for Haloween we made spider treats together with toasted coconut marshmallows for the spider body and stick pretzels for the legs. He thought this was pretty funny. I did, too. I didn't know spiders could have up to eleven legs. We shared the treats with his mom, dad and of course, the dog.
