Dr. Toy
Stevanne Auerbach, Ph.D., known as Dr. Toy, has been tracking trends in the toy business for more than 30 years. Dr. Toy has searched across the entire toy industry for the great classic toys that fit the criteria for fun and high play value. Dr. Toy says, “Classic toys are enduring and have many important benefits. They encourage the child’s interaction, involvement and are truly child-powered.” The classic toys she has selected as winners have been available for ten, fifty, or a hundred years or more.

Great American Toy Test
asked children across the country for the 27th-straight year to test thousands of toys to find out which ones were the most fun. About 9,000 children tried out 4,200 toys submitted by 90 toymakers that features a six-part TV news series and half-hour program that airs in over 50 television markets nationwide.
The toys are graded by teachers and children on important consumer considerations: quality, durability, ease of assembly, maintenance, short- term interest, long- term interest, educational value, safety and just plain old fun.

NAPPA (National Association of
Parenting Publications Awards)
Is a consumer-awards program for resources for families. For over 12 years, NAPPA Children's Resources recognizes the best children's products on the market: our judges present the best toys, books, recordings, videos and software for children just in time for the holiday gift-buying season!
2005 Gold National Parenting Publications Award winners—A program sponsored by L.A. Parent and promoted in association with parenting publishers across the United States.
Oppenheim Toy Portfolio
The Oppenheim’s review the submissions, weeding out products that are unsafe, unsound or obviously unworthy. Promising products are then kid tested by families nationwide. Finally, the experts consider these results as part of the overall evaluation of the product. Unlike publications that rely exclusively on the judgment of kid-testers, these reviews take kid-tester's response to a product as one of the many factors to be considered, along with educational and play value, safety, age appropriateness, and other factors.
