From his first few weeks, your child’s development, new skills and his understanding of the world have come through play, often in the most creative and imaginative ways. He is creative in his thoughts long before he can put this creativity into action. At first he just watches the raindrops fall on the window or ripples in the pond, but later he can actually make patterns on the patio with his wet feet.
The most obvious creative activities are painting, drawing and playing music and you should encourage your child’s development in these areas. His drawings develop in stages; at first they will be pages of scribble, including big circles, lines and dots.
