To prevent falls, the cradle swing should not be used by an active child who may be able to climb out. So, your child’s developmental abilities will dictate when to stop using it. But in terms of durations of time for your baby to be in the cradle swing, they can be rather long. The rhythmic rocking motion and static “white noise” sounds soothe and calm babies and often lull them to sleep. Babies become so comfortable and relaxed while swinging in it that they have been known to fall asleep peacefully for hours! During wakeful playtimes, the overhead mobile will help keep your baby entertained while providing visual stimulation as the toys move with the gentle rocking of the swing.
