Why won't my 16-month-old brush?
Margaret Leander
I strongly recommend that you brush your daughter's teeth. At her age, you can't expect her to do an adequate job, just like you wouldn't expect her to shampoo her own hair. Make sure you brush her teeth and gums and use toothpaste without fluoride. Fluoridated toothpaste could stain her permanent teeth if she swallows it. When you help her brush, make a game out of it. Find a toy, song, or activity that she enjoys and incorporate it into the process.
