What does global development delay mean?
Pearl London
Global development delay is a term used to describe a child whose development falls behind norms in most if not all areas of development. Some children show a delay in, say, language development but stay on target in such areas as motor and muscular development and self-help activities. The word global is applied, in general, when there is a delay in more than one or two areas of development.

There are many toys and activities that can help children with developmental delay, but they are age-related. As you did not mention your daughter's age, it is difficult to be specific. I invite you to submit another question to me and provide a bit more information so I can recommend toys and activities.

Finally, let me say that Fisher-Price has added a section on its website specifically for children with disabilities at www.fisher-price.com/us/special_needs/
