Your problem, Gina, falls under the category of “good problems.” That is, it sounds as though both of the options offer advantages. Personally, I would opt for the creative early childhood program; it seems too good to miss. As for the possibility that one school offers more stability with respect to friends, I wouldn’t let that influence me if I lived in New York City. Geographic movement there is pretty high, and some of the friends your daughter makes in the K-6 school might move during her time there, anyway. Furthermore, creative and conscientious parents, as you obviously are, can often find ways to get children together even if they don’t attend the same school.
