When it is cold outside we make tents indoors. We get all the chairs and blankets and make it as big as possible and enjoy the fun making it and getting inside!

What I do with my granddaughter is we have a band, and she will play her drums and I will sing. We also do crafts because she loves to draw and cut up paper. Also, we have a lot of tea time and reading – she loves to share pictures in her books. We go on a bear hunt, as well. I just enjoy doing all these things with my granddaughter.

I loved spending time with my 2½-year-old granddaughter. I like to take her to the museums. She seems to really enjoy seeing "bigger than life" things like statues and large artwork at the art museum, dinosaur skeletons at the history museum, and the rainforest at our local Cleveland Botanical Gardens. Our winters in Ohio are long, dreary and cold, so going to a museum takes us away from the weather outside. I also take her to our local animal shelter where she's able to interact with the cats and dogs. We bring blankets, towels, dog and cat food ... whatever we can come up with to help out, and when it's time to leave she likes to put her dollar in the donation box. We go to the inside farmer's market together where she is in awe of all the different foods to be had. My favorite pass-time with her is laying on the living room floor and doing floor puzzles. I love spending the day with her because at that age, they just absorb everything around them. It's never ending.

We always do a variety of things together. Our 6-year-old likes to cook, read, play board games, computer games, play with playdough (that we make together) mostly with me. Then with PaPaw, she plays investigative games. They play NCIS (copying the TV show); she role plays Abby, and Papaw plays Gibbs, or Ducky, or one of the other agents. They get out rubber gloves, little flashlights, tweezers, and other gadgets to go through the house to investigate, making up their crime scene as they go. It's quite entertaining, but our granddaughter has a blast! She's very creative and loves to play pretend! As former teachers, my husband and I encourage this kind of pretending.

I have the most wonderful grandsons in the world -- 4 1/2 and 3 1/2 and 23 months (yes, all by one mother ... God sent them down because I was only lucky enough to have one wonderful, loving, giving daughter). We see them at least once a week and we cook together, we clean together, we read together, we color together, we play old records and sit in the livingroom and sing together, and they nap with their Papa together. Being grandparents is the best gift ever. As Papa Grr says, if he knew it was going to be this much fun we would have skipped being parents ... kidding! Our daughter says "you wouldn't have had them without me!" We are praying for a fourth.

I live in the south and my grands live in snow country. This past Christmas, I visited them and we had a ball playing in the snow! We made snow people, snow forts, and snow angels, plus we had a terrific snowball fight! My grands were amazed at how much "spunk" their Grammy Dee had. My daughter filmed all this activity on her camera and after we all sat by the fireplace drinking hot chocolate and watched our snowy escapades! They will have this to watch over and over again whenever they want, and Grammy Dee will be there once again in their living room.
