When my granddaughter was 3 years old, I picked her up from daycare and brought her home with me to visit. My husband and I live in a wooded subdivision. Once we got to the gravel road, she said (with a lisp), “Grandma, do you live in the sticks? Mommy said you live in the sticks.” I’ve never let my daughter forget it!

I pick up my grandchildren quite often from day care and bring them back to my house for dinner. On a recent ride back, the sunset was so beautiful and I called attention to it to my grandsons sitting in their booster seat/car seat. I asked my grandson, Connor, what color the sky was at the time and he said pink (which it was). And he then said, “I can see the ‘banana’ moon too, Grandma.” Because traffic was so busy, I did not dare try to look up at the sky. After taking them back home after dinner, I looked up in the sky and there it was … the crescent moon, but to a three-year-old, it truly did look like a banana.

My husband lost over 50 lbs. One day our two-year-old granddaughter must have noticed, and she looked at him and said, “You are pretty, Papa.” – the only word she knew to express her thoughts.

My little 3-year-old grandson was praying because he said that he wanted to be saved, so in his prayer he said, “God, I don’t want a cracked heart.” Grammaw’s interpretation is that my grandson wanted a new heart.

Our granddaughter was three months old. We had not seen her in a few days, so we began saying “I love you!” We said it several times and she was watching my lips. All of a sudden, she said, “I love you.” She said it three times. She is eight months old now, and we are still thrilled to tell that story.

Our granddaughter told her mom that her baby sister does not make a very good pet, because she does not listen and does not want to follow orders.
