Celebrate springtime with this fun and fuzzy idea. As you and your child are doing the craft together, take the opportunity to explain that many animals are born this time of year. When her picture is complete, hang it anywhere you want to post a bright reminder that spring has sprung!

Child's blunt-tip safety scissors
Heavy paper or cardboard (optional)
Popsicle stick (optional)
Draw the outline of a chick on the paper.
Have your child color in the chick's feet, beak, and eyes.
Glue on googly eyes, if you like.
Snip the yarn into tiny pieces to make yellow fuzz.
Spread glue on the parts of your chick you want to be fuzzy.
Sprinkle the yellow fuzz on the chick and press it lightly with your finger to make it stick.
If you'd like to make a fuzzy chick stick puppet, glue your picture onto heavy paper, cut out the chick, and glue it onto a popsicle stick.
Only for children 3 and above, due to use of scissors and small parts.
