Q:
I know that it's often recommended that parents try to use family for help with childcare, or that they work different schedules so someone is always home with the child.
What if neither of these is an option? Everyone in both our families works the same hours we do. If one of us took on a night job, we wouldn't be able to sleep in the morning.
A:
Sometimes there are no options and a family has to rely on daycare.
If this is your situation, there are two ways to go. One option is to rely on a home-run daycare. These situations are usually smaller and cozier than conventional daycare. The other option is to choose a commercial day care with an excellent reputation.
