Materials
- Paper

- Blank notebook or scrapbook
- Glue
- Family photos or child's blunt-tip safety scissors and old magazines
Instructions
- Use paper and pencils, crayons, or markers to make an alphabet poster with your child.
- Label the things drawn in your child’s pictures. If your child draws a picture of a house, label it “house” and display the picture on the refrigerator.
- Have your child watch you write when you make shopping or to-do lists.
- Say the words out loud as you write them and carefully print each letter.
- Encourage your child to make lists, too. Help her form the letters and spell the words.
- Make a travel journal with your child.
- Each evening, write in a blank notebook or scrapbook about the day’s special events.
- Later, glue in family photos or pictures cut from magazines that depict the events.
