One-of-a-Kind Snowflakes

Materials
- White construction paper or tissue paper or a large white doily
- Safety scissors
- White glue
- Glitter
Instructions
- Prepare the white paper by cutting it into squares and rounding the corners or cutting out circles; or, use a doily.
- Sit at the table and give everyone a prepared sheet of paper or a doily.
- Have the kids fold the paper in half, then in half again.
- Have them cut small pieces out of the folded edges.
- Have them unfold the paper and fold it again in a different place.
- Make some more cuts.
- Unfold the paper and look at each unique snowflake.
- Talk about how similar they are and how different they are, just like people.
- Let the kids dot or spread glue onto the snowflake.
- Sprinkle on some glitter and shake off the excess.
- Allow the snowflakes to dry and tape them to the window.
