Materials

• White construction paper or tissue paper or a large white doily
• Safety scissors
• White glue
• Glitter

Instructions

• Prepare the white paper by cutting it into squares and rounding the corners or cutting out circles; or, use a doily.
• Sit at the table and give everyone a prepared sheet of paper or a doily.
• Have the kids fold the paper in half, then in half again.
• Have them cut small pieces out of the folded edges.
• Have them unfold the paper and fold it again in a different place.
• Make some more cuts.
• Unfold the paper and look at each unique snowflake.
• Talk about how similar they are and how different they are, just like people.
• Let the kids dot or spread glue onto the snowflake.
• Sprinkle on some glitter and shake off the excess.
• Allow the snowflakes to dry and tape them to the window.
