Average Rating
out of 156 vote(s)Your child will get a real laugh out of this playful craft project. These yummy little clowns are easy to make and they taste great! So rather than taking a trip to the store, spend time with your child making these delicious treats. And when the clowns are finished, head outside and “chill out” on a hot summer’s day.
Materials
- Ice cream
- Paper cupcake liners
- Ice cream cones
- Chocolate chips, raisins, nuts, candy, or other small edible items (not for children under 3 years)
Instructions
- Place a scoop of ice cream in each paper cupcake liner.
- Place an ice cream cone upside down on top of each ice cream scoop.
- Have your child make a face in the ice cream for each clown with chocolate chips, raisins, nuts, candy, or other small edible items appropriate to the age of your child. For younger children, make a face by dotting food coloring onto the ice cream.
Safety
Because the small ingredients could be choking hazards, do not include them for children under 3 years of age. Be cognizant of potential food allergies (e.g., to nuts) for children participating in this craft.
