Pregnancy has given me acne!
Q: I am in my second trimester of my first pregnancy and suddenly I have developed acne. I’ve never had it before. Is pregnancy making me more pimple-prone or is it my change in diet? What can I do to eliminate or reduce the amount of breakouts I’m getting?
A: Acne is quite common during pregnancy. Treatment consists of meticulously washing your face and applying certain topical medications. Speak with your obstetrician or a dermatologist regarding medications that are safe to use during pregnancy to reduce your acne. I have found that it is quite difficult to eradicate during pregnancy. However, it is certainly worth a try.
