My 4-year-old was set to enroll in preschool this school year. Then the state changed educational requirements, which prevented him from attending kindergarten the following year, so we decided to keep him home from preschool for a year. Well, the state changed its position again, so now he’s eligible for kindergarten next year, but it’s too late for him to get into preschool. What should I be working on with him to make sure he’s ready for kindergarten? Brendon is the third child; his brother is 6 and his sister is 7. When he sees them doing homework he refuses to work with me on flashcards or workbooks.
