I’m in my 8th month of pregnancy and have a watery discharge. Is my water trying to break?
Watery vaginal discharge is common throughout pregnancy. The discharge comes from helpful bacteria living in the vagina. Although you may think this is disgusting, the bacteria is performing a very important role, keeping bad bacteria away from the baby. Most of my patients wear a mini-pad as the pregnancy progresses. It is a nuisance, but not the end of the world.
As far as the bag of water is concerned, it is an all or none phenomena … it either breaks, or it doesn’t. So please don’t worry. You can do little to control when and how your water will break.
