My 16-month-old daughter has been unusually fussy recently and has a constant runny nose. I think she may be getting her “jaw teeth” because on both sides of her bottom gums I feel big knots. How can I be sure this is not something more serious than teething? She has not been running a fever, but she seems warmer all over.
All the symptoms you describe make me believe you’re your daughter is teething in a normal manner. The fact that you feel these “knots” on both sides is a good sign. I would suggest that you bring her to a dentist to be sure everything is fine, to learn how to handle these trying times and to learn how to keep your daughter cavity-free.
