Is it impolite to change a baby's nappy in public?
Q: Is it impolite to change your baby's nappy in public?
A: This is a matter of individual taste and consideration for others. You certainly wouldn’t want to change a baby’s nappy in a restaurant, where people are concerned about germ transmission. Or in church or at a concert. And I wouldn’t think you would ever want to change a nappy soiled with a bowel movement in any sort of public place. The odor is offensive, and no one wants to be exposed to that unless it is absolutely necessary.

Fortunately, today there is much more sensitivity to the needs of young mothers and their babies than used to be the case. As a result, this should not be a major problem for anyone. All restrooms in airports and bus and train stations now have changing areas close to water and trash receptacles. In most cases, these will take care of the situation.
