Is homemade baby food better than jarred?
Q: I'm thinking of making baby food for my 4-month-old by boiling carrots, adding sugar and blending. Is the all-natural way better than prepared baby food?

I breastfed for a month after my baby was born then gave her formula. I'm starting to let her taste fresh fruit without small seeds, whipped cream and other things. I want to wait until she's 5 or 6 months before I give her solids.
A: I want to congratulate you on starting your baby off with breast milk, Chloe. I think it's great that you want to give your daughter homemade food, but it will be easier if you have recipes and guidelines. Search "baby food recipes" online and you'll find plenty of websites. The important thing about making your own food is to avoid adding spices, sugar or anything else as these are not necessary and may not be appropriate.
