Q:
I am going to Florida over spring break and want to get a good tan. Can I use suntan lotion?
A:
To my knowledge there's no reason you can't use sunscreen. I do caution my pregnant patients to be careful. I have noticed women's skin reacts differently when pregnant, and they may become more susceptible to sunburn. I'd stay out of the sun or use a strong sun block to avoid any problems. And don't forget to drink plenty of fluids. It's quite easy to become dehydrated in a warm climate.
