Q:
My 3-year-old son is in love with trains and owns about 150 of them. He knows them all by name, and that’s all he talks about. His room is decorated with trains; he has train clothing, books, movies, etc. When we go to a toy store, the only things that interest him are trains. Should I be worried?
A:
No, I don’t think you should worry. At 3, kids often develop a passion for certain activities. However, you should reconsider whether you want to add to his already substantial train collection. He certainly seems to have enough of them for hours of fun, imaginative play.
