Autumn Colors Collage
Autumn Colors Collage
Materials
- White glue
- Water
- Liquid dish soap
- Wax paper
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Dark-colored construction paper (optional)
- Contact paper
- Hole punch
- Ribbon (optional)
- Tissue paper scraps in fall colors
Instructions
- Thin the glue with water and a few drops of dish soap.
- Tear off a sheet of wax paper that’s about twice as long as the collage you wish to create.
- Fold it in half, then open it.
- Have your child brush the glue on one half of the wax paper, then stick the tissue paper scraps onto the glue.
- Brush more glue on top of the tissue paper, then fold the other half of the wax paper onto the design.
- Press and smooth the paper, then let it dry for several hours.
- If you like, cut dark-colored paper strips and glue them around the edges of the collage as a frame. Or use one of these suggestions:
- Substitute clear contact paper (sticky side up) for wax paper and glue.
- Cut the finished collage into strips and use them as bookmarks. Punch a hole in the top of each bookmark and add a ribbon tassel.
