Materials
Marker
Ruler
Heavy cardboard (at least 8 1/2-by-11 inches)
Small objects like beads, buttons, paper clips, dry pasta, cereal, coins, toothpicks, and so on.
Glue
Instructions
Use a marker and ruler to divide the cardboard into 12 rows.
In the top row, write a title like "I Can Count!" or "Sam's Numbers".
Along the left edge of the cardboard, below the title row, write one number in each row, beginning with 0 and ending with 10.
Help your child collect objects in groups of 1 to 10.
Glue each group of objects onto the appropriate row.
Display the poster where your child can touch each object as she counts it.
Safety
Because this craft involves the use of small objects that could be choking hazards, it is not appropriate for children under 3 years of age.
